Getting There
As some of you might know, this past weekend we threw my sister a surprise wedding shower up in Syracuse. My mom and I started planning several months ago and this past Thursday afternoon we flew up north to get things organized. About a month and a half ago we traveled up to New Jersey for Meg and Dan's baby shower and Colin was a completely different baby from that trip. With his ever growing mobility all he wanted was to be down on the ground, crawling around on everything. The last place he wanted to be was in the stroller strapped in. And so it began: the quest to find that delicate balance of how much time is too much time spent just sitting there.
Here we are in a classic case of waiting chair jungle gym:

A small helping of Cheerios on the plane did wonders for that mid-flight struggle to get him to sit still for just a little while longer.
We, of course, had to connect in Detroit but we've come to really love and enjoy this airport. And if we had to pick one airport to spend a few hours in, it would be Detroit International!
Everyone we know who has been through Detroit talks about this pedestrian tunnel with lit glass panels accompanied by jubilant music but we've never had much time to check it out. Until this trip! We had about three hours to keep ourselves occupied and went in search of the tunnel that connects concourse A with concourses B and C. It was pretty awesome and we walked from one end to the other and back again. Meanwhile Colin just chewed on a straw.
