"El-bow!"

Remember when I said that Colin's "mama" sounds more like "baba"?  Maybe I didn't mention that we weren't quite sure if he was trying to say "mama" or if he was actually saying "baba".  Well this morning Mike was hanging out with Colin in his room and they were playing with a toy that has Elmo pop out of a little box after you hit the green button.  Anyway, each time Colin hit the button and Elmo popped out, Mike would exclaim, "Elmo!".  After a few times Colin said "El-bow" (with a drawn out "bow")!  I guess for now his M sound is a lot like the B sound! ;) (and he's saying "mama" after all)

He's gaining independence these days and with that we think comes his realization that he actually likes to be around us!  Today Colin was the most cuddly we've ever seen him!  He was nuzzling Mike's entire face at one point and was full of spontaneous hugs and kisses.  We went to a friend's house with several other friends this evening and for a while he just wandered through the crowd without either one of us.  He'd occasionally find me where I was and hug my leg, or lift his arms to be picked up for a quick cuddle and then he was off again.  He'd do the same thing with Mike.  He can sometimes be so clingy so I was proud to see him just wander over to the table where other kids were coloring and playing all on his own.

The weather today was absolutely spectacular!  Mid 70s at least (although our car read 80 this afternoon) and plentiful sunshine all day.  We spent a little time in the wonderful fall air while Mike labored away at home on some school work (Thanks for workin' hard, Mike!).

Here's to a beautiful fall in the south and an abundance of acorns to munch on!

PS: Happy 15 months, buddy!  We love you.
