6 months
Well, Colin's been with us for 6 months and it's a struggle to think back to a time without him. We were saying the other day what a major corner he's turned in just the past couple months-it's hard to believe there was ever a fussy time in his life. He's much more relaxed (though I wouldn't go so far as to describe him as laid back!) but much more easy going and it's been a ton of fun to hang out with him.
We're still trying the sweet potato and I think this week we'll try peas. But so far he still likes oatmeal (plain oatmeal) best. Mixing the sweet potato in with the oats definitely taints them and he can tell! He still eats them, but at a much slower pace than when he's just eating oats. Nevertheless, it's a fun adventure, for us especially, and we're anxious to introduce him to more food.
We started putting Colin in his own bed in his own room at the beginning of January and we went through a bit of a rough patch. Nothing too major, but after getting used to almost a 12 hour stretch of sleep, just about every night, the 10, midnight, 2:3o am, 4:45 am, etc wake-up calls were a bit much. It was short lived and he seems to be out of that habit (at least for the moment) and we're back to around 11 hour stretches at night-we can't complain. He still naps like a champ too. And still about three naps a day which, hey, if he still needs the sleep, far be it from us to stop him!
The boy likes his rings. With or without toys attached to them. Single rings or rings all hooked together. He's still not extremely interested in toys, but give him some rings and he's happy for a while. He also likes the sound of little toy pianos. Just a little tinkling of the keys and he's all smiles.
We've been enjoying sweet little giggles and laughs. He's got little tickle spots that just set him off into giggle fits. Like if you kiss him under his chin or along the sides of his torso, it gets him every time. We spend lots of time in these areas! Sometimes the most random thing will make him laugh. Making a silly face at him, or just kissing him on his hand, who knows what it is but to him it's the funniest thing. He's been making more sounds too, like dadadadadada and some yells that turn him red in the face. It's so much fun!
Here's to your first half year, Colin! We love you so so much.
