Three months have just flown right by! Whoa! And we just can't believe it! Some fun things have been happening too! Colin loves his hands...any chance he gets-which is often-the hands are in his mouth and sometimes both of them at once! He's starting to reach for things and is developing his attention span more and more each day. He's happy when he's sitting in his bouncy seat, or hanging out with some animal friends on his play mat, and, of course, he still loves to watch the mobile animals...squeals of delight can often be heard while he is lying in his crib.
Another recent development is the attempts to rollover. Maybe a bit unconventional, but Colin is attempting to roll from his back to his tummy...always over his left shoulder. With just a little help on the front end, he can usually get the rest of it on his own. We love to have him "practice" every day!

The only trouble is, that once he's rolled over, he's not quite sure what to do next. It often involves some grunting and flailing his arms and legs around like a fish out of water. Pretty funny!
While he's making huge strides in the fussy arena, he still HATES (and i can't emphasis the "HATE" more) his carseat and the stroller, which makes going for walks and our upcoming trips to New Jersey and New York for the holidays a bit stressful. I haven't figured out the secret to going for walks, but for our travels I think we'll just get some earplugs and see how it goes! But he is getting better day by day...and the happy/smiley times are starting to out-weigh the fussy times and for that we are thankful. We're also thankful that Colin is mostly sleeping through the night...he has nights when he'll wake up once, but for the most part he sleeps the night away. Thanks Colin!

Happy three months, sweet Colin!
WOW, rolling over already! We all knew he was very advanced. Wish the car seat thing was better. I never heard of a baby that doesn't like going for car rides. You should tell him that.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Colin! How fast the time flies! Maybe the long car rides will be good for him ... he can't possibly cry the whole way, can he? Maybe he'll even realize that he likes it by the time you get where you're going! Maybe his cousin, Ian, can give him some pointers on sleeping in the car - he seems pretty good at that! He needs some help sleeping in his crib, though - maybe Colin can teach him how!
ReplyDeletesounds good...we'll make them trade secrets to each other!
